Boy Scouts of America Troop 13 is chartered by Trinity United Methodist Church and normally meets Mondays during the school year in the church basement located at 201 West Central Street in Chippewa Falls.

Troop 13 News

 Monday, April 30 - SCUBA / Swimming - 6pm-9pm

Chippewa Falls Middle School
All scouts age 12 and older are invited to go SCUBA in the Middle School pool, all others can swim.  Make sure you fill out a SCUBA permission slip.  If a parent is not remaining with you at the pool, please bring a Troop 13 permission slip and medical form.

Please sign up at one of the Monday meetings in March and April.

Adult leaders are invited to go SCUBA / Swimming.

Monday, May 7 - Highway Cleanup - 6:00pm
Meet at Four Corners (Hwy 178&S)
Each Fall and Spring, Troop 13 cleans up along a 2-mile stretch of Hwy 178 from Hwy S. Please meet at Four Corners at 6pm to help. If you arrive late, find us along the highway and stop and help. The more help, the faster the job will get done.

Monday, May 21 - Court of Honor - 6:00pm
Troop 13 holds Courts of Honors several times through the year. At the Court of Honor scouts are recognized for their advancement by receiving Merit Badges and Rank Advancements. The Court of Honor is a family event, please bring siblings, grandparents, uncles, etc.
The evening starts with a pot luck dinner starting at 6pm with award ceremony after. The court of honor is held at Trinity Church.

Scouts should wear their Class A Uniforms.
Please bring a LARGE dish to share:
  • Main Dish: Dragon Patrol
  • Salad / Side Dish: Cobra Patrol
  • Dessert: Eagle Patrol

Saturday, May 26 Flag Placement - 9:00am
Forest Hill Cemetery
Each year, Troop 13 helps the VFW place flags at Forest Hill Cemetery on State St. This usually takes around an hour. Afterwards, we will help organize items for the bike ride (if needed).

A weekend backpack camping trip is being planned for July 13-15. More information will be given to scouts as the weekend gets closer.

If you have not received a summer camp packet, please see Mr. Buchmann. To receive the $10 discount for summer camp, payment must be made by April 30 for older scouts or May 21 for new scouts. Merit badge selection is due June 4. Health / Permission / Medical forms are due at the Summer Camp Meeting on July 16. Medical forms require a doctor’s signature.

SM / ASM TRAINING
All Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters will be required to have attended:  Leader Specific and Outdoor Skills Training.  Upcoming training dates are: Leader Specific: October 22 and Outdoor Skills: October 29-30. If you can, please complete these trainings

ATTENTION ALL SCOUTS

All scouts should bring their Boy Scout Handbook to every meeting.  New scouts will need to get books updated with advancements earned at camp.

ATTENTION ALL LEADERS

All leaders must take the on line youth protection course.  When you complete the course, you will receive a certificate (suitable for framing).  Print this out and give a copy to Mr. Buchmann.  New leaders will not be registered until they return the certificate!  Any questions, contact Mr. Buchmann or the Scout Office.

NEWSLETTERS

Newsletters are published monthly and mailed to each family.  If you have something to place in the newsletter, please email it to: newsletter@cv-troop13.com by the 15th of the month before.  Newsletters are placed on the Troop 13 website as soon as they are completed.

AUTHORIZATION FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT FORMS
All scouts attending camp will need an up to date form.  If you have not filled out a form since the end of last school year, please update our records with a new form.
Forms are available on line, or at any of our meetings.

SCOUT MASTER CONFERENCE AND BOARD OF REVIEW
If you need a Scoutmaster Conference or Board of Review, you will need to contact Mr. Railie and Mr. Tozer before the Monday meeting.
You will need to wear your Class A uniform. 

NO SCHOOL / NO SCOUTS
If the Chippewa Falls School district cancels school or closes school early because of the weather, any scouting activity scheduled for that evening will be canceled.  You will not be notified.
